Sentencing

Interview with Elise, Jack, Justin and Sean

JM: How long was your sentencing for?
Elise: 10 days, the had to wait for Alachua county to come get me
Jack: I ended up getting 60 days.
Justin: 90 days plus 10 weekends
Sean: ive spent a total of 3 months over it, because they constantly come back after you if you miss a payment for court costs, or any of the other many fees your left owing, thats where you really get in trouble...with all the money that you owe the county

JM: Did you spend time in a holding cell after your sentencing? If so, what was that like? If you didn't where did they they take you instead?
Elise: I can't remember. But most likely. Most all jails have you sit it one. And most are okay.
Jack: Yes, I spent some time in the holding cell. It was REALLY, REALLY cold. There were no blankets and they took my shoes. It was a Saturday night so there were two really drunk people in there too. They were really loud and throwing up all on the toilet.
Justin: Yes i was in a holding cell for 6-8 hours packed in like sardines mixed in with people with every crime you can think of. while 6-8 guards sit behind a desk ignoring peoples needs
Sean: yes you go into a room known as the "pink room' first....its absolutelyfilthy and stuffed with people. not to mention theres no air..theres urine and feces on the floors and walls, and people have to sit and sleep in it
