Closing Advice

Interview with Bruce, Jen, Crystal, Allison and Deanne

JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Bruce: Looking back, it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be before I went in...If you go looking for trouble, it is too easy to find, but if you keep to yourself and treat others with respect, it was easier to get along with the other inmates and even the guards too.
Jen: It is a very inhumane place to be in all areas!!! The best help you can give to a loved one having to stay here would be to keep money the inmates books so they not have to subject themselves to eating the disgusting food here and they are able to have their own hygiene products, as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and lotion are NOT provided
Crystal: Depending on the time of year it will be very hot or cold. That the guards are pretty hard on you but then as they get to know you they aren't too bad.
Allison: Just dont go thete u will miss ur fam and they dont understand care who they take u frim look arizona take 15 children from they fanily a day n no one care
Deanne: Its not as bad as you think. Everyone is pretty much there for the same thing and it will be okay. Just dont show up if you have been drinking (because they will arrest you again right there) and also be on time.

JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Bruce: Treat everybody with respect, be polite to the guards, make friends slowly, do not gamble at all with anybody, and learn to enjoy reading as that is how most everybody passed the time there
Jen: To trust yourself not other inmates, do not get overly close or friendly with anyone, to have money set aside for someone to put on your books, to stay focused in books or writings not the other inmates or surroundings, it will depress you if you do
Crystal: Do as you are told and bring lots of books to read. Realize that a lot of the woman you are serving time with are a lot like you. It can be good to share stories with others and learn from your time in there.
Allison: My advise is hide your kids from the gov because they willl ttake every one s kkid n n sell them just like tthey do evry oone its life damagin
Deanne: Its not as bad as you think. Everyone is pretty much there for the same thing and it will be okay. Just dont show up if you have been drinking (because they will arrest you again right there) and also be on time.

JM: Please list any other jail or rehab facilities you have been to.
Bruce: None
Jen: Glendale jail, the Phoenix jail downtown
Crystal: Banner Behavioral
Allison: Terros ha ha
Deanne: I have been to 4th Avenue Jail, but only for visitation.
