Good Behavior

Interview with John

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
John: I was let off with a much lighter penalty because I put myself into a rehab and completed it before sentencing date instead of waiting and asking the judge to sentence me to rehab, and also there were some other circumstances that the prosecuting side for the state erred on and that allowed me to get to the streets were I could get in the rehab.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
John: It varies, depending on the state, or if it is a county jail or prison, but there is no set amount you can get off for good behavior unless your in prison. Any other time it is totally up to the judge.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
John: In prison you have to complete hoe squad, which is standing in a line and working the ground in a methodical order with numerous others and the hoes weigh twelve pounds each. It is slave work and they degrade you and it is no fun believe me. other than that you can not get caught smoking or gambling or many other rules. You would usually be going home four months earlier and sometimes they go home years after they could have.Your question ask if I have ever saw someone losing time off for good behavior? I have saw people losing there good time for bad behavior.
