Medications

Interview with Henry

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Henry: They were pretty good about getting people their prescribed medications. They only did two calls a day though for OTC medications..which was also overpriced.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Henry: A nurse or the doctor would come to the front of each section of the barracks with a cart to pass out medication a few times a day.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Henry: I witnessed a lot of this. A lot of people would get caught with another inmates medication or even in some cases other drugs. They will send you to solitary confinement for anywhere from ten to thirty days. In some cases I even saw the jail file criminal charges on the person they caught with the drugs or medication.
