Pre-sentencing

Interview with Rodney

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Rodney: I was arrested and booked, and was going through the trial process for about a year in a county facility Sonoma County

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Rodney: Manslaughter and battery charge. I got into an altecation. It wasn't until a year later when they brough the charges around and I was arrested.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Rodney: Like a zoo. I was let out into the courtroom there were cameras and newspapers, mini-circus. We went through a pretrial motions and the ADA came in with a deal and my lawyer countered and we settled on a plea.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Rodney: The orginal was 187. Plead down to involuntary manslaughter.
