Good Behavior

Interview with Kelsey

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Kelsey: I got half time meaning for every day I spent I got two days credit. That is why I was sentenced to six months, but did a little less than three months.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Kelsey: I think half time is as good as it gets as far as getting time removed from your sentence for good behavior. This factor greatly contributed to me turning myself in at the time I did.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Kelsey: If you want to recieve your good behavior days, you of course must not get caught doing anything illegal. No drugs, weapons, or any other contraband. For the most part if you are caught for simple rule breaking you just get locked down in your cell. The period of time for lockdown all depends on the guard and how bad what you did was.
