Interview with Scott, Carrie, John and Sophie

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Scott: orange tops and bottoms blue tops and bottoms and brown tops and bottoms it depends where your at
Carrie: None. everything is issued to you. 2 sets of scrubs, 2 pair socks, 2 bras and 2 panties, and a pair of sandals.
John: they took everything i had execpt my wedding ring. I asked to keep that. they gave me everthing and some stuff would not fit
Sophie: nothing... they provide all clothing and shoes, if you were lucky you might get two sets that were the right size

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Scott: yes and it depends on where your at on what color you wear
Carrie: We wore brown scrubs. white tube socks, granny panties, and sports bras. Some were in good condition others weren't. If you got lucky you got good clothes.
John: i don't remember if it was blue and white or orange and white I know they got mad and you got punished for making shorts out of the pants or cutting the sleves of your tops some guys were really big and cut the sleeves.
Sophie: brown v-neck shirt, brown elastic waistband pants, white socks, white sports bra, white underwear, tan shower shoes... issued two sets of clothing and one towel

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Scott: no there all the same
Carrie: No. every one gets the same thing. Your lucky if it fits though.
John: I was told in winter time it got cold but I was not there to find out long sleeve shirts were in high demand
Sophie: no, we were just lucky to get clothes that fit... would wash our own clothes in the sink with a bar of soap to keep the right sizes

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Scott: no they where also the same
Carrie: No. you were separated by what your status was, and by color. Inmate laborers wore light brown, general population wore dark brown.
John: I saw 3 girls while there and they had the same thing on only differance was it said womens jail on the back
Sophie: no everyone wore the same
