Visitor Policy

Interview with Tyrone

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Tyrone: Twice a week we were able to have visitors. They had to be on a list we provided. Anyone not mentioned on our list was turned away.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Tyrone: No, on the contrary, it was quite simple for them. They would check-in just prior to the scheduled visitor's time and then would be led to the visiting area quite swiftly.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Tyrone: It was about seven seats on each side of a very thick plexiglass window. The seats were seperated by dividers, and communication was via telephone, with COs on each side of the plexiglass. It was not very private, nor was there any opportunity for touching or actually hearing voices other than through the telephones.
