Interview with Max

JM: How many different blocks were there?
Max: There are two buildings. One is old and one is new. All the female inmates live in the new building. On the other side of that building are the general population of men who have been sentenced.

JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they?
Max: Yes. Block A and Block B. Different sections were called General Population Presentencing and postsentencing, the Hole, Protective Custody, Holding.

JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks?
Max: See above.

JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks?
Max: If you are in the new building and male you are in the general population section of people who have already been sentenced. Inmates here can get a job and if you work, you get extra privileges.
