Clothing

Interview with Erik and Clayton

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Erik: Clothing are just the "blues". Blue sweatshirt, blue shorts, blue pants. The shirts and pants are all made of sweat type material.
Clayton: Just standard jailhouse pants, top, socks. If you worked outside they gave you a little jacket.

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Erik: Yes, see above.
Clayton: I wore orange. Guys with murder charges wore red. Orange and brown stripe were violent offenders and had gotten in fight with cops.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Erik: No.
Clayton: No

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Erik: They have their own unit. They wore the same thing as the men.
Clayton: Women did wear the same colors, if I'm not mistaken.
