Visitor Policy

Interview with Darcy

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Darcy: Two times a week, we had set visitor schedules, I think mine was Sat and Sund for a 45 min visit. Our visits were over the phone not in person, IRC's had to have the visitor on a list first

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Darcy: The lines were long and if the guards did not like what they saw they would send your visitor away. Usually took and hour for the visitor to get into the jail.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Darcy: Long rows of phones thru plastic windows. Not alot of privacy. Spoke over the phone until the guards turned them off. Everyone could see who your visitor was. Phones usually were not cleaned either. Floors were dirty and there were not enough chairs to sit on. Also no wheelchair access either.
