Pre-sentencing

Interview with Rachel

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Rachel: My very first time I was kept in jail while waiting for court because I prior failures to appear charges and the judge wasn't goint to let me out again.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Rachel: My very first time was possesion of meth. I got out and got busted again for sales. They got me at a traffic stop.

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Rachel: Definately the fear of not knowing the outcome was extremely stressful. Going back and forth was extremely trying. You had to go thorugh the process of holding cell, and pats and everything. It was all mentaly exhausting. Once you're inside the court, you've got that fear of not knowing what's going to happen that can drive you crazy.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Rachel: Possession of controlled substances, sale of illegal narocotics. I plead down to violation of probation and possession.
