Closing Advice

Interview with Lena, Janis and Anna

JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Lena: Write them always. If you can put money in thier account that's great too but write. Everyone looks forward to mail.
Janis: Make sure you visit them as often as possible because jail, any jail is emotionally draining. Communication to the outside world, especially phone calls and visits, is vital. Letters are encouraging when they hear their name at mail call just before lights out.
Anna: I'd let them know that despite how much it really sucks to be in there. Their family member would most likely be okay. As long as they did what they needed to do.

JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Lena: Get over yourself especially if its only a little time.
Janis: I would advise them to just do their time and to not go in there making friends because most people look out for self or will get you in trouble. Don't get any girlfriends and do your time constructively.
Anna: Well I'd just tell them to read a lot of long books. I'd tell them to stay away from the drama. I'd tell them to keep their items close from being stolen.

JM: Please list any other jail or rehab facilities you have been to.
Lena: No others, thank God.
Janis: Lerdo Pretrial
Anna: Glen Helen.
