Interview with Kyle, Randy, Tyler, Dave and Melissa

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Kyle: None. We were supplied two sets of uniforms, two pairs of socks and two boxers. Anything else could be purchased on commissary.
Randy: YOU COULD NOT BRING IN ANY OF YOUR OWN CLOTHING WHATSOEVER TO THE JAIL OR PODS.
Tyler: We had a set of clothes given to us so no other clothes were permitted
Dave: YOU COULD NOT BRING ANYTHING OF YOUR OWN INTO THE JAIL TO WEAR NOR COULD IT BE SENT IN
Melissa: You have to surrender all your clothing at Booking.

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Kyle: One pair of Shower shoes. You could chosse to wear your socks or not. Boxer shorts. One uniform bottom (color to be determined according to floor and security level) and one uniform top. The uniform design was very simular to hospital scrubs
Randy: YOU WERE GIVEN TWO UNIFORMS AND WERE THE STANDARD YELLOW SLIP OVER SHIRT TYPE OF UNIFORM AND BAGGY PANTS AND UNDERWEAR AND SOCKS AND SANDALS
Tyler: We had jockey shorts or underwear. Short socks the kind that women wear. A orange jump suit that was our shirt and summer sandals that were hard to wal in.
Dave: IT WAS THE USUAL JAIL CLOTHING WITH CLOTH PULL OVER SHIRTS AND CLOTH PANTS. DIFFERENT CUSTODY LEVELS GOT DIFFERENT COLORS WAS ALL THE DIFFERENCE THERE WAS.
Melissa: "Jumpsuit" Scrubs. White socks, white underwear, white sports bra, white tee shirt, and scrub pants in whatever color your Pod wears. Blue and White Stripes, Blue, Yellow, and Red were the colors I saw.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Kyle: Most inmates liked everything big, so most inmates would ask for nothing smaller than 2XL bottoms and 2XL tops. Also new socks were a high commodity
Randy: IT WAS NOT SO MUCH CLOTHING BUT PILLOWS WERE HARD TO COME BY
Tyler: Some of the inmates were on work release so I'm assuming they had different shoes to work outside the jail. Mow the grounds, shovel snow would require better shoes than what we recieved
Dave: NOT SO MUCH CLOTHING BUT PILLOWS WERE SHORT SO GETTING THOSE FIRST WAS IMPORTANT
Melissa: 3XL Pants. Apparently they are soft and comfortable, even if inmates were skinny, I saw them asking for those and was told to ask for them because they were soft.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Kyle: The mens were all solid colors while the women were horizontal striped uniforms
Randy: I DO NOT BELIEVE IT WAS OTHER THAN THEN THE UNDERWEAR.
Tyler: I could only see the jumpsuit colors were different
Dave: JUST THE UNDERWEAR WAS DIFFERENT
Melissa: No. Although I'm guessing that the men are not issued a sports bra.
