Interview with Louisa
JM: What else would you want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to this jail?
Louisa: I would advise them to support them as much as
possible. Send letters, visits, if you can
afford to, put money on their books. You have to
buy your own shampoo and stuff. Be there for
their court dates and stuff, just be there to
support them.
JM: If somebody knows they will be serving time in this jail what is your advice to them?
Louisa: I would advise them you to stay to yourself,
don't discuss your charges with anyone, don't go
in with an attitude. Sit back and watch. Stay
out of the crowds of people. You can tell who
is a troublemaker if you take a few days to just
watch. If someone asks what your crime is you
can say "I would prefer not to say", you don't
have to be rude about it though.

Louisa: Oklahoma County Jail 1997 or 1998.
