Interview with Todd

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Todd: I thought I was going to be able to get out on bond after surrendering myself but that didn't happen.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Todd: I was driving without an license and driving without registration. What happened was I got involved in an accident and as part of the police investigation they found out I didn't have those items. I was given a summons to appear but failed to appear. That's when a bench warrant was issued in my name. They sent me notice and I chose to surrender myself. didn't appear and a bench warrant was sworn out. Originally had an accident, summons to appear surrender

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Todd: I was very fortunate. I contacted an Indian River defender ahead of time and we worked out all the details.

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Todd: Failure to appear, driving without a license, driving without registration.
