Interview with Sonia

JM: How many different blocks were there?
Sonia: there were 3 or 4 different blocks for females depending upon the numbers of women being held

JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they?
Sonia: A-100 A-200 B-200 B-300 i am not sure how many cell blocks there were for the men

JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks?
Sonia: One cell was suppose to be for medical and mental health. Another was for unsentenced. Another for misdemeanor offenders and women who had already been before the judge and sentenced

JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks?
Sonia: They were all the same lay out. The best part about Nassau County is that it is kept very clean and the worst part is the acoustics and the temperature it was extermely cold in Nassau in the summer as well as the winter. I spent July-Oct 2012 then when I violated my probation I was there May-Aug 2013
