Interview with Kyle, Alan and Mary

JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Kyle: Yes.
Alan: there is a phone but you got to call collec t
Mary: Well there was only 3 phones to every cell block and about 70 women so there were phones there but not easily avail

JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Kyle: $2.50 for only 15 minutes.
Alan: the avg call was 6;00 dollors and that was on a phone bill on the person you called
Mary: I rarely called home but on an average I am sure that $50 dollars was being spent on phone calls alone most inmates would call there family 2 or 3 times a day to me that's crazy

JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Kyle: No, I just used collect calls.
Alan: no you called collect to the person
Mary: No your family has to open an account with an inmate phone company

JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Kyle: I am not sure but have been told that there is a random screening of calls.
Alan: yes they did and your mail to
Mary: Yes they say they are always recorded
