Pre-sentencing

Interview with Kelly

JM: Tell us about the pre-sentencing process:
Kelly: I was in jail downtown ft lauderdale. I was moved 5 times to 3 different jails and numerous cells. Not a moments rest and very stressful. Was brought before the televised judge 3 times with no resolution. Finally after 7 days i went to the courthouse where they released me with time served.

JM: Did you have police stop by your house for questioning? If not please give us details on how you came to be arrested.
Kelly: I was in a neighborhood, dropped off by a cab for not having cash. Knocked on a womens door to hav her call me another cab, but she called the cops instead and i got arrrested for loitering. I was immediately taken to the facilty in wilton manors and booked

JM: What was court like? Please give as many details as you recall.
Kelly: A long process oflaw terminology by the prosecutor, judge, and public defender. I took matters into my own hands and asked the judge for resolution on my case against my public defenders approval. The judge questioned why i was still in there on such a low bond and then resolved my case

JM: What were your original charges? What did you end up being convicted of?
Kelly: Loitering/Prowling, convicted of same with time served.
