Visitor Policy

Interview with Harry, Qtip, Hanna, DoneMyTime, Linda, Missy, Josh, Alex, Gary, Charlie, Melissa, Harley, Billy and Jimmy

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Harry: I was able to have visitors on Fridays and Saturdays all day. You are only able to have 5 people on your list, and you can only have one visit per day by one or a couple of people at once.
Qtip: 3 times a week
Hanna: You can have 2 visitors a week. The visits could only be thursday through sunday.
DoneMyTime: twice a week up to two people at a time
Linda: THREE TIMES A WEEK
Missy: TWO DAYS OUT OF THE WEEK.
Josh: Visitation is via telephone monitor and lasts 30 minutes per visitor. According to the Inmate Handbook, an inmate may receive 1 visitor per visitation day.
Alex: Once each day. Only in the morning and they never would see you in person but, instead, you would talk via webcam chat on a computer.
Gary: once every month
Charlie: I never received a visitor so I am unsure about how often one would be allowed to receive them.
Melissa: From what I saw, inmates go to a place outside of the pod in another room to talk to visitors through a phone and can only see visitors on a television. Visitors who come to the jail talk on a phone and can see the inmate on a television. There is no direct human interaction.
Harley: one doy out of the week and they have too call too the jail .. to get a time 2 come see u
Billy: ON TIME A WEEK THAT SUCKS BAD I DIDNT LIKE THAT AT ALL NOT KOOL
Jimmy: one time a week they have too call 2 the jail 1st too see if it was ok and set a date and time up

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Harry: I was told that they waited about 3 hours to see me.
Qtip: sometimes
DoneMyTime: only the first visit. additional visits you just come in before the time scheduled
Linda: YES
Missy: NOT REALLY ABOUT AN HOUR.
Josh: Yes. There is a background check.
Alex: I never had any visitors. I would not know.
Gary: 1 hour
Charlie: I would not know anything about this, as I stated above I never had a visitor, and would not know anything about the visitation process.
Melissa: I do not know this information.
Harley: yes it was long and they had too wait in a long time just for 30 min thats was not cool at all ... ...
Billy: NO THEY DIDNT LIKE IT WAS TOO LONG AND THEY HAD ONLY 30 MIN THE LINES TOOK UP 15 MINS SO IT WAS SO BAD
Jimmy: no it was not too long the lines was crazy packed wit people tryin too get in too see there people too so it was crazy

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Harry: The typical Plexiglas environment with a phone on either side. You only get 30 minutes with your visitors.
Qtip: its a glass window and u talk though a phone its ok tho
Hanna: Awful. You have to visit your loved ones through a video screen. It completely takes away from the visit. There is nothing intimate about the visitation! Its a webcam!
DoneMyTime: a webcam very impersonal, but appreciate any communication. It is a privilege, so I rather be thankful to God for what did transpire.
Linda: BEHINDE GLASS AND TALKED ON A BROKEN PHONE
Missy: IT WAS ALRIGHT I GUESS.BUT I HEAR THAT IT IS BAD NOW SINCE THEY CHANGE THE WAY THEY DO VISITATION.IT'S SAID THAT WHEN YOU VISIT SOME ONE NOW IT'S THROUGH A T.V.AND OTHER PEOPLE IN THE DORM CAN JUST WALK UP TO YOU'RE VISITATION AND TALK TO YOU'RE VISITOR.
Josh: Relatively clean and friendly, I was told.
Alex: A computer in the cell block with a camera on it.
Gary: Stupid. you look through a video screen.
Charlie: I had seen the visiting environment before, no one actually got to see who they were visiting, it was all on computer screens with phones. It didn't even seem like a real visit when I saw it, although if you had kids seeing them on a computer screen would be better than not seeing them at all.
Melissa: I do not know this information.
Harley: wait in line too be called u see them on a screen not in person u can touch u had too put up the phone 2 talk too your people just for 30 min not long at all not cool ... then it be cold up there for your people
Billy: NOT GOOD AT ALL U HAD TOO SEE YOUR PEOPLE THREW A TV SCREEN CANT TOUCH THEM REALLY CANT EVEN SEE THEM THAT WAS NOT KOOL THEN THEY ONLY HAD 30 MINS SO THAT WAS NOT GOOD FOR MY FAMILY AT ALL SO ME AND MY FAMILY WAS MAD ...
Jimmy: not good u have too wait too see your people then when they came u get 30 min have too see then threw a srceen thats was not fun at all made me fill bad cant touch or smell your family thats not a good time at all too me.
