Visitor Policy

Interview with Bee, Anthony and Clarence

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Bee: I don't know I never got a visitor but I think from watching the other women that visitation was once or twice a week and you could only one visit a week.
Anthony: you could have visitors come once a week for me it was either on wednesdays or saturdays
Clarence: I believe weekly, although I did not have anyone come (too embarrassed to see anyone).

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Bee: I don't know
Anthony: yeah they had to empty there pockets into a locker and get searched and then get brought into these small booths and talk to you for 30 minutes thru a big piece of glass my dad came every week but my mom came once and said she couldnt do it again
Clarence: n/a - I didn't have any visitors. I do recall speaking to other inmates who told me it took about 30 minutes to get the visitors through to see you.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Bee: I don't know
Anthony: it was very tough like i said my dad came cause i never had him put money on the phone so that was how he comunicated with me on what was new in his life but my mom came once and said she couldnt see me like that ever again
Clarence: n/a - I didn't have any visitors. I was told however, that the visiting area was quite large and thus everyone got to see their visitors without much delay. There was also a time limit to be with your visitor, which helped in getting the visitors in & out fairly quickly.
