JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Sean: yes and could use when ever we were in the common
areas ( most of the day if were were not on lock
down)
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Sean: there was a 4 dollar connection fee pluss like a
dollar fifty per minute or something ridiculous.. it
was pure extortion
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Sean: no the person you were calling had to have a land
line or special cell and they had to accept all
charges
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Sean: yes and if you made 3 way calls you could catch
ectra time ( but most every one did it)
