Interview with Alan and Martin

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Alan: Nothing. Had to buy socks and t-shirts or tank tops. We were not allowed to wear underwear.
Martin: absolutely nothing i cant have anything in polk county they let you bring in a suit for court

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Alan: 2 shirts, black and white stripes. 2 pairs of pants black and white stripes. One pair of shoes really awful shit tan colored plastic slip on jail shoes.
Martin: they had a green and white uniform and at the old jail tan or black and white uniforms transport orange jumpsuits and orange and white

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Alan: Yes. The newer the better. Get clothing that fits you.
Martin: no there was nothing special about the uniforms issued in polk county

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Alan: Yes. Men were black and white stripes and the women wore blue and white stripes.
Martin: no it was the same
