Meals

Interview with Harley and Ryan

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Harley: I had three meals a day.
Ryan: 3 per day. You can order food from the commissary if you have the funding. This was not available to me because I came in over the thanksgiving holiday, and they ordered these for a 2 week period before I arrived.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Harley: It was gross but if you was hungry you eat it.
Ryan: Even though it was not great I looked forward to it. Especially in the holding cell. It was really my only way to know (roughly) what time it was. It was also the only thing to do while I was in there.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Harley: It was all gross I couldn't rate any of them.
Ryan: Bagels were hard as a brick, Lemon lime drink was horrid, I did have thanksgiving dinner that was good. Meatball sub was ok.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Harley: Yes you could get junk food 2 times a week.
Ryan: I never had this option. I missed the ordering. They had a decent list to pick from, and prices were ok.
