Interview with Tina

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Tina: Sports bras, no underwire. Socks and underwear. Other than that nothing. No hair ties, many girls took the top part of their sock, the elastic rim and used that. Some COs ignored it, some pulled them right out.

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Tina: Two pieces, top-short sleeves, curved V-neck, long pants-elastic waist. Both horizontal black and white stripes. Stripes were about 2 1/2 to 3 inches thick. Beige sandals.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Tina: I'm not sure what you're asking. Unbelievable as it may sound, someone did steal my dirty clothing and all it contained was a uniform and towels, both county issued. They were eventually found and returned.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Tina: I don't know. I was only incarcerated on the women's side.
