Meals

Interview with Travis

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Travis: Three meals per day at 6:30am, 12:30pm, and 4:30pm.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Travis: The food was generally pretty bad. Breakfast came far too early in the morning and everyone generally went back to sleep immediately afterward which is unhealthy. Some of the meals were nearly inedible or indistinguishable "meat" that I avoided eating. The juice, served at all lunches and dinners was a powdered drink mix which came in a package indicating that it was unsafe for human consumption.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Travis: Yes, once a week the jail served baked chicken thighs/legs which were pretty good. Most everything else was questionable or disgusting

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Travis: The jail provided nothing other than three meals a day. The commissary was mediocre and most of the items were overpriced. Every few months the items that seemed to be purchased most often by the most inmates increased in price.
