Interview with Tawnie
JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Tawnie: As I said there were all types of women and very
few of them were friendly enough to get along
with. I needed to learn when to speak and when to
just keep quiet. It was a totally scary experience
for me.
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Tawnie: Just keep to yourself and keep yourself busy. Also
a very important thing you never tell your
personal business to anyone if you didn't want it
all over the compound.
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Tawnie: Yes you could and a couple of times I did that and
it makes doing time a lot more tolerable.
