Medications

Interview with Dave and Miss

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Dave: Yes, if you needed them. You couldn't get ibuprofen. But the diabetics would usually get their insulin. A few times I saw them get too much insulin or not get it often enough. I didn't have any medications to take.
Miss: No. thank good I was only in there a while.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Dave: They had a nurse come around and administer them.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Dave: They would take the group TV away. If it was just an individual offense they would go to solitary, but they would usually assume that the group knew about it and therefore punish the group. We had our TV taken away for a day a couple of times.
