Good Behavior

Interview with Striker

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Striker: No. Apparently, when being charged with Contempt of Court, good behavior time is not available.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Striker: I'm not positive, but I believe it's something to the effect of 1 day off for every week of good behavior, so approximately 4 days off for every 28 served.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Striker: I absolutely witnessed people losing their good behavior time. Primarily, it was from such things as fighting with each other, fighting with the guards, or failure to cooperate with the guard's demands, to small stuff such as making alcohol (aka hooch or wine), hoarding pills or medication, or smoking (trustees would smuggle cigarettes in for other inmates).
