Inmates

Interview with Lewis

JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates? Please give examples to explain why you did or didn't.
Lewis: No I did not find it hard to get along with any of the inmates. I'm from Chicago and spent time in cook county jail which I supposedly the most dangerous county jail in the US.

JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Lewis: You just had to keep to yourself and mind your own business. Listen to what the guards tell you to do and not talk back. You had to respect everyone's space and not try and pick fights. You also had to watch what each person decided to watch on TV

JM: Were you able to choose an inmate as your cellmate if you knew one? How often would your cellmate(s) change?
Lewis: No we were not able to choose our cellmates. When I was in there for thirty days I had three different cell mates because two of my cell mates got released.
