Sentencing

Interview with Darrin and Jessica

JM: How long was your sentencing for?
Darrin: as a part of my plea bargain i received time served which gave me 4 months in jail.
Jessica: 0- 2yrs was my felony range.

JM: Did you spend time in a holding cell after your sentencing? If so, what was that like? If you didn't where did they they take you instead?
Darrin: i only spent time in the detox cells when i was originally arrested when i went to court i was already in jail so when i returned from sentencing i went back to my cell. there are 2 large holding cells and 5 or 6 detox cells everyone is held in a detox cell for several hours to days when they first come into Montcalm County Jail the holding cells is where they put people while they wait to go over to the court house holding cells and where you go when your waiting to be released on the day you get out.
Jessica: Yes it was behind the courtroom...then they take you under ground thru the tunnel to the jail. Put in another holding cell in booking. That is where the book you in to the jail. It depends on the officers that book you in...also if your acting crazy you will stay in booking till they move you back into population.
