Meals

Interview with Danny

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Danny: 3 meals each day. Breakfast at 8AM, Lunch at 12PM, and Dinner at 5PM.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Danny: The food wasnt bad, but it wasnt good either. Everything was made out of turkey. The baked goods were my favorite part. There was a lot of food that I just gave away to other inmates because it was either disgusting or not something I would normally eat regardless of my incarceration status.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Danny: The one meal I actually really liked there was the Spicy Chicken Patty. I also liked the pizza. My least favorite meal was breakfast. They offered cereal EVERY morning. I have gastro-intestinal issues with lactose, so I avoided breakfast at all costs.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Danny: The only snacks you could eat came from commissary. Commissary was expensive and the mark-up was ridiculous. How are inmates expected to pay 10 times the normal cost for goods when they are locked up and unable to procure their own finances? Seems illogical.
