Meals

Interview with Troy

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Troy: Three. They were served at 6am, 11am, and 4pm.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Troy: The food was outright disqusting. They have the same foods over and over. They don't season it. We always had potatoes for lunch with some type of mystery meat.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Troy: Every once in a while they would give us some extremely dry chicken. I liked when they had desserts. They had a blueberry cake muffin type thing for breakfast sometime. My least favorite was grits. They were always cold.

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Troy: If you were a "cart pusher" (serve food on other blocks) you could get extra stuff off the cart. But no they didn't give out snacks.
