Interview with Nathan
JM: How long was your sentencing for?
Nathan: I was sentenced to 8 years served and 5 years
probation. I ended up serving about 7 years in
the Mississipi State Penitentiary plus 5 years
probation, 4 years probation with the feds.
JM: Did you spend time in a holding cell after your sentencing? If so, what was that like? If you didn't where did they they take you instead?
Nathan: Yes. It was pretty bad. I had never been in
any kind of trouble. This was my first time in
jail and I was only 21 years old. It wasn't
real fun. I had no idea how the jail system
worked. I though the drunk tank was how my
whole time in jail was going to be. We had to
sleep on concrete, were lucky if you got a
blanket, it was very cold, and we ate sandwiches
3 times a day.
