Medications

Interview with Megan

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Megan: It took me 10 days to get my contact lens solution. I got my case and glasses, but had no solution to put them in. No one communicates well what the rules are and it is beyond frustrating. I arrived with a migraine and was given ibuprofen, but it took a good 5 or 6 days for my prescription medications to be ordered.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Megan: OTC meds came from my family; prescriptions were ordered by the nurse after my family brought my Rx bottles. I was not allowed to take my diazepam throughout my stay as they are a "benzo-free" environment.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Megan: I do not know. There was never any explanation up front and I never saw it so I can't appropriately answer that.
