Medications

Interview with Ricky and Frank

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Ricky: i do have an anexity disoreder but they would not give me meds for it
Frank: Yes the nurses gave out meds to those who need them twice a day everyday.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Ricky: they would come around 2 x a day and give out meds but they would only given meds to people that came in with meds
Frank: Nurses with carts came to the block with guards and gave out meds to whoever was on their list for meds. If you miss meds they don't care they make you wait until the next time they give out meds.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Ricky: inmates on the block would trade their psycs meds for extra trays of food or to sleep their time away
Frank: They would lock people in their cell all day sometimes 2 days or more depending on how many times they were caught with others meds. If it was drugs like street drugs brought in they get locked in their cells plus charged for having drugs in the facility. No i never witnessed anyone get caught with drugs.
