Visitor Policy

Interview with Ryan and Kathryn

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Ryan: visitation was twice a week for 2 hours at a time. you could have up to 2 people visit at once
Kathryn: twice a week, one hour visits

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Ryan: Yes i was told it was. They would have to check in their belongings, they were breifly searched and then they had to wait to be called up to see me.
Kathryn: No, it went quick

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Ryan: it was a booth with phones. We sat separated by bulletproof glass. The chairs were very basic, plastic, and uncomfortable. My chair was a metal circle. the room felt dirty and you were constantly checked up on by guards who kept passing by and interrupting the visit. that was the worst part
Kathryn: Visits were through a thick glass, and talk through telephone
