Meals

Interview with Karl, Christine and Drew

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Karl: Three.
Christine: We got 3 meals per day .
Drew: They served two hot meals and one cold

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Karl: The food is edible. You are able to buy stuff from the canteen store like ramen, dry soups, dry beans, etc. With my stomach issues I couldn't eat the breakfasts they usually served us because you always get milk with breakfast. One of the regular meals is a bologna sandwich. Regular breakfast was grits and a waffle, and milk. I am lactose intolerant. They brought breakfast at 4 or 5 in the morning. All the meals are served earlier than you are used to eating.
Christine: The food was not good . We always got the same thing everyday for lunch . It was a sandwich with no mustard or any kind if dressing . Breakfast was gross and we had to wake up by four in the morning to eat half asleep . It was cold . The only decent meal was for the holidays .
Drew: 1, There where mornings where we where served cold cereal but with no Milk they served water. Daily cold sandwiches for lunh, Dinner meals where all simillar with just a few ingredients changing each day. Also In way food was served was messy and you tray was usually mixed will all other entrees.

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Karl: From time to time they would give us a chicken meal that wasn't bad. Dinnertime was usually my favorite. I generally didn't like the breakfast.
Christine: The holiday meal was the best . My least favorite was the bolonge sandwich . It tasted like rubber and it was all wet .
Drew: All food was least, I did not like any of thier food but had to eat it commisary was all junk food

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Karl: No. If you were a BO (not sure what it stands for but they help clean up, hand out meals, get more privleges)...sometimes they would get some of the staff meals, but not everyday.
Christine: Commissary was pretty good at a reasonable price . They delivered every week . I like the care packages they included the most popular items in one one sack for one price . The hygiene was pretty expensive though .
Drew: Commissary was expensive, Example sodas wher 1.75 Folgers coffee was 14.00 and no helthy food all junk food.. I spent 50 dollars a week on commissary, and it would barely last a week, and only essensials like hygene
