Medications

Interview with Drew and Matt

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Drew: No quite difficult to obtain meds unless arrested with prescription.
Matt: No, I had to wait quite awhile to recieve my prescibed medication that I came in with, and was then not even allowed to have it! I had to be put on a taper and recieve another kind of med.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Drew: I had to call the pharmacy and find out last date prescribed and push that to medical with no avail. Finally I had to make appts. with mental health to get meds .
Matt: You had to put in a mental health request in the kiosk, and wait for whenever they would decide to call your name.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Drew: Lockdown of inmates in a cell. I witnessed inmates caught with weed and sent to the hole supermax for two weeks.
Matt: I am not sure exactly what kind of punishments were incurred. I never witnessed anyone recieve punishment for any abuse.
