Interview with Andrew and Jeremy

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Andrew: Those prison scrubs. Green like in the county jail.
Jeremy: Single color only, no blue black orange or gray clothes because that was officer colors.

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Andrew: Just what they give you.
Jeremy: Spruce green pants and shirt, black work boots, all issued by the state shop.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Andrew: No. You could get some other stuff like extra socks or a hat from the commissary but it would cost you.
Jeremy: I always asked for Kevlar vests and ceramic inserts, but they just laughed and said no. Sneakers for the colored boys, boots for us crackers, womens undies for the latin kings, diapers for those little 5%ers.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Andrew: There was no difference.
Jeremy: No women at Clinton.
