Interview with Andrew and Jeremy

JM: How many different blocks were there?
Andrew: There were a bunch of cellblocks. Can't remmber how many. One man per cell and 43 guys to a block.
Jeremy: A,B,C,D,E, Upper and Lower F, Upper and Lower H, and the box.

JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they?
Andrew: Just the numbers.
Jeremy: Just letter names

JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks?
Andrew: Sex offenders were the first ones who wound up being hurt or killed so they were kept in a different cellblock. Everyone else was mixed in.
Jeremy: They assigned you to certain blocks depending on your job assignment, or if you were in protection status, hospital, etc.

JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks?
Andrew: Nothing really nice except they allowed me to work and learn a trade as a cabinet maker which is what I'm doing now. The worst part is that it's like Viet Nam. You end up being being shell- shocked from all the ugly stuff you see like people being stabbed and all the drug dealings. Just as you walk in line and see somebody tapping another guy on the back, you think they are saying hi but not they're getting shanked.
Jeremy: Nicest was being alone in a cell. All the blocks are bad, you're in prison, FFS!
