Interview with Andrew and Jeremy
JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Andrew: There was an orderly fashion of inmates who could
get on the phone to make collect calls.
Jeremy: From the yard, we stood in lines to make collect
calls only.
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Andrew: They were more expensive. I can't recall the
exact amount.
Jeremy: Charges were extremely high, no idea what the
average guy ran up.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Andrew: No such thing.
Jeremy: At that time, no.
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Andrew: All the time.
Jeremy: They did have a list, they did randomly listen,
and recorded all.
