Medications

Interview with Dale

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Dale: Upon admission, one surrenders to the care of the facility's physicians--what you were on outside might go out the window. That said, whatever new meds a person might be prescribed are delivered diligently and punctually.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Dale: Nurses made regular rounds, and they seemed pleasant and compassionate enough. Pills were dispensed in small paper cups, crushed up to ensure that we swallowed them, rather than squirrelling them away in our cheeks to abuse later.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs? Did you ever witness this?
Dale: My guess is that one would be put in the hole--a cell to one's self with no release for a given amount of time--but having never seen this, I really cannot say.
