JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Nate: for ten mintues a day you can call someone that's
on your phone list or you can make a collect cal
for 15 mintues but the phone numbers must be on a
call sheet that you have to fill out first and it
has to be ok with the prison staff.
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Nate: if its a collect call it all depends on your
phone carrier,I heard of men piling up bills to
their love ones in excess of over 200 dollars a
month.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Nate: phone cards where not an option.
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Nate: yes they always did this
