Good Behavior

Interview with Chris

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Chris: I did not get off early based on good behavior, But I was able to write the sentencing judge for my cases and was allowed to receive work credits. Which for people on child support that is almost the same as good time.

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Chris: I don't know what it is for good behavior. I do know that you get like 1 day off for every 2 days with work credits and I think that it is the same with good behavior. Only thing is with work credits is if you are not at the work release facility then your work credits don't count. Like if the work release facility is full and you are having to wait then your work credits don't start till you get moved to the work release facility and they start the day that you get moved over there.

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Chris: With the work credits you have to avoid anything that will get you sent back to the jail. If you fight, smoke, not in proper uniform, have something in your locker that the guards think you should not have, anything like that it can get you sent back to the jail and when you get sent back over there your work credits stop and your release date changes.
