Interview with Tommy

JM: What clothes could you have brought in to wear in the jail (underwear, socks, etc.)?
Tommy: The only thing you can bring in with you are your glasses is you wear them. Everything else is assigned to you by the jail.

JM: If you had a set uniform, what did it look like? Please be specific about each piece of clothing issued to you.
Tommy: You got one pair of white boxer shorts, one pair of white socks, one pair of orange rubber sandals, and one button up jumpsuit that usually orange but was sometimes blue or green.

JM: Were there any assigned clothes in high demand that an inmate should look for when getting clothing assigned?
Tommy: There is a two piece outfit that people sometimes got. You should ask the inmate taking your clothes sizes to see if he can get you that one, especially if you're a bigger guy, because the buttons on the once pieces don't work very well.

JM: Was the clothing different between men and women?
Tommy: As far as I could tell, yes.
