Meals

Interview with Sean

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Sean: Inmates got two full meals and a sandwich for dinner.

JM: How would you rate the food? Please give details of why.
Sean: I'll tell you what an inmate told me "Foods not that bad, just not enough of it" I agree with this. I served 110 days as a trustee in the kitcher and one if our perks was we could fix anything we wanted anytime we wanted in when we were in the kitchen working. Thats how I gained so much weight. The Captain was very strict on quality of food to my surprise along with the food service employees. I think they emphasised good food to keep conflicts down

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Sean: All the menus were set on a rotating basis. Everyone loved my cooking because I had a food service and kitchen background. I also tried to Cook a little more when I could get away with it. Favorites was lagsana, hamburgers, and peanut butter sanwiches

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals? What was commissary like and how expensive was it?
Sean: Occasionally the food service manager would get somekind of deal on items and distribute them. I think most of the time that happened the items were donated. Commissary was a good selection. Some items seemed to be overpriced, but most were reasonable.
