JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Carlos: Regular acces to phones same price, I did not
use these phones because I had no one to call at
the time, wrote letters.
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Carlos: Ten dollars or 20 dollars per phone card sold on
commissary list.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Carlos: Yes , but if you did not have a phone card you
could work something out with another inmate,
drawing, food, etc.
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Carlos: Yes all calls are said to be recorded.
