Interview with Dorothy

JM: How many different blocks were there?
Dorothy: There is only one block used for females but they have like 4 or five for the men.

JM: Did they have names? If so, what were they?
Dorothy: North Control, South Control and I'm not really sure of the others because I was not allowed in those areas.

JM: Which types of inmates were housed in the different blocks?
Dorothy: Trustee are housed away from general population. The rest are based upon the color of your arm band. Usually if your charges are really bad then they cannot house you with inmates of lesser charges. Also inmates with certain medical problems are housed in separation until they are cleared by the nurse.

JM: What do you remember being the nicest and worst parts about the different blocks?
Dorothy: I remember that my trustee tank was the nicest because we had a few extra privileges. From the other tanks that I would enter at different times to clean the two man tanks were better then the ones that housed 8 inmates. I don't think that there is really anything that was great about this experience other than I made it through and today I am worry free of a felony probation violation hanging over my head and that is an awesome feeling!!
