Leisure Time

Interview with Scott

JM: What types of facilities were available to help pass the time?
Scott: there was a tv room and a basketball court. Other than that there wasnt much a=else to keep you busy other than working out with the other inmates and solo at time.

JM: Did you have regular access to the entertainment or was competition fierce? Give details.
Scott: There was regular access to the facilities. Fights ofter broke out over the tv and the availability of the room.

JM: Did you have a hard time staying in shape while in jail?
Scott: At first yes because you are depressed. Then I started to maximize my time. It is hard to do cardio but adjustment s can be made, but it isnt the easiest thing to do.

JM: How often did you get to go outside? What did you do outside if you were allowed to? If you were not allowed to go outside what could you do for exercise?
Scott: 3 times a week for an hour.

JM: Did the jail offer church services? If so, what were they like and when were they held?
Scott: The jail had church services on sunday and saturday mornings in the chapel. It wasn't your traditional church service and was more praise and worship and testimonials.
